Lately, do to the loss of my computer, I've... been cheating on Guild Wars. ... with WOW. Okay, don't throw fruit at me, I was just... experimenting... but today I decided to go for it and buy myself an account. Sigh. I probably don't have the time for it, but hey I don't have time for anything anymore, lol, and yet I manage.

  I resisted trying WOW for a long time, but it's actually really fun! I've enjoyed playing it a lot so far, and it really reminds me of when I first got Guild Wars... that new car smell, kinda. It's fun just to run around and explore and hurt stuff and do quests and be a big noob in general. Lately with GW it's just been all... grinding for rep and titles. Which can be fun in its own way, yes, but it's not really very interesting.

  I'm definitely not going to stop playing GW (I couldn't abandon Ghada like that). In fact I was reading back on my Guild Wars tags and getting nostalgic. I'm still going to keep grinding for titles -- Ghada's so close to getting Legendary Sunspear. But I'm also going to have fun being a noob in WOW.

  I also need to make myself play a console game for an hour or something on each of my days off. I have a ton of games sitting there looking at me, being all sad and stuff 'cause I've had them for ten million years and never played them. Geez.

  Listening to Sims music right now before work (nothing makes me feel better than Nightlife Create-A-Sim if only for the ba-bibba-bas) and realized I haven't played Sims in MONTHS. MONTHS I TELL YOU. I asked for all the Sims stuff I don't have for Xmas from the moomster, so hopefully that will encourage me to play again (IKKEEEAAAAAAAA NNGHH). Although it means I'll have to download Sims PE again.

  I was also rewatching this and realized that I own Portal and have never played it!! WTF. I should make that a goal of this winter break.

  Was playing a lot of Guild Wars today. I finally got Amarna to the Crystal Desert and am trying to start on all this Ascension jazz. Not really looking forward to it. The missions seem to be pretty much impossible unless you're with other (real) players, not hench or heroes. Bah. Someone had agreed to help me at 4:00, and I was pretty pumped, and then my wireless dumped me and I got booted from the game. Irritating enough when you're by yourself, but when you have someone else relying on you, ugh. I had to completely log off because of a thunderstorm anyway.

  I am soooo never going to get past the Crystal Desert. Ugh. But I'm going to keep trying instead of going to a different character like I did last time. I only have like... ten missions left to go. UGH.

  At the moment I'm torn between playing Guild Wars and not playing Guild Wars. I already played 6 hours today, from 10 till 4-something. I don't think I should play anymore, but... ugnghgh.

  I can't believe it. Amarna and I were on such a roll, plowing through missions like there was no tomorrow, and now I've gotten STUCK on Aurora Glade and I just CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT and the GuildWiki article isn't really any help at ALL. I don't understand what I did wrong, and I don't know what I was supposed to do instead. I feel like such an idiot and it's amazing how fast I'm just like "I GIVE UP." D< I'm always so bad at timed stuff, because I panic and blah. This is definitely the worst mission I've encountered so far and I have at least two more characters to drag through it -- if I can ever even figure it out!

  At least I won't be longing for GW while we're up in Tallahassee painting, I guess. :/

  AUUUUGHHHHH.

  Today was Fishtank Cleaning Day of DOOM. I have a 25 gallon fishtank, and seriously, you guys, doing an all-out cleaning of that thing is a total bitch. Had lots of help from mom. There was lots of shouting and cursing on my part. We started around 11 AM this morning and just now (4:50 PM) finished for good (that's like... six hours of tank cleanage). Phew. But at least it's done, and the tank is nice and pretty again, instead of being a Pooptacular Fish Poop Palace.

  So I've showered, took some Advil, cracked open a cold vanilla coke, and now IT'S GUILD WARS TIME. I have Sociology work to do, but I'll do it later tonight. Because I need a break. I got Ghada (my dervish) to level 20 and now I've decided that I want to actually to attempt to finish a game, rather than running around and hitting things with sticks. So I'm going to try to drag Amarna (my necromancer) slowly through all the Prophecies missions. Then maybe I'll try to do the same with one of my Factions characters. Almost all my characters are at like level 16+ except for poor Eldor, who is ignored and is still in Ascalon. I just need to get at least one character through one of the games. Sheesh! I'm such a noob and I've had the game for a year now.

  Oof. I had a headache this evening, most likely due to skipping lunch, and so I went to bed after dinner, around 6:30. I meant to take a nap, not sleep till MIDNIGHT. Now I'm totally awake. I even went out to the living room and watched that horrible Deal or No Deal show with dad. That show is like a crime against humanity, seriously.

  Anyway, since I'm up, I told Sara I'd post a picture of Lucius in his new emotastic wig. ( LOL whut. )

  I think I'm going to go play some more Guild Wars until I get sleepy again. D: I finally got my ranger to Nightfall and got her an awesome flamingo. I was going to name the flamingo "The Masticator" because I thought that was pretty badass, but the whole thing wouldn't fit (only 12 characters allowed D:) and so I had to just put in "Masticator," which isn't anywhere near as cool. :( In fact, it's kind of lame. I don't know if I should rename the flamingo or not. I'm kind of wavering between calling it "Edna" or "Mr. Darcy." Any opinions?

  First off -- attention f-list, in case you haven't heard. I'm going to go through my interests and make sure there's nothing particularily strange there -- I don't think there is, since I'm not interested in the stuff that they're going after -- although I do have "slash" as an interest, but I absolutely refuse to remove that. If having slash as an interest becomes a problem for LJ, that's the day I'll be leaving (LJ is where the slash lives, after all).

  Second off, I decided that Thuy, my assassin on Guild Wars, was going to be an Assassin/Necromancer (it was either that or Assassin/Monk), and oh my god did I hit the jackpot. I don't know if I just have got the right set of skills or what, but I haven't felt this confident with a character in ages. She went from like level 6 to level 16 in three days. I rule. At least, I ruled until I got to mainland Cantha, and then all the monsters went up ten levels and there was epic fail. But STILL. It's less epic fail than usual, if that makes sense. I LOVE YOU THUY.

  Thirdly, Amanda N aka cinemachick came to visit from Thursday to Saturday, which was sadly short due to mishaps but still filled with much awesome!! Vanilla coke was had by all (HEY DID YOU KNOW IT'S BACK YOU GUYS). ( Anyway, we had a lot of fun... )

  In other news, I'm really really really getting excited about our trip. It's coming up soon and I'm just really happy. I love being in planes for about fifteen minutes, until it starts to get boring. XD I can't wait to go to Vancouver and Banff. I'm kind of excited about bicycling in the park on Wednesday, because we just don't get to do that kind of thing here (because it's too hot!!!). I am worried about the weather, though. 10-day forecast says the weather's great until we get there (of COURSE): 40% chance of rain on Monday (no big deal because we'll be traveling), 30% on Monday (not so bad), but 60% on Tuesday when I was hoping for a lovely outing in the park. Kinda bummed about that. Still, that's the 10-day forecast, and it could change for the better... hopefully. D: However, looking up Banff on Weather.com gave me the EXACT SAME results (which I really DOUBT seeing as Vancouver is seaside and Banff is in the mountains!), so maybe it's not all that accurate.

  Okay, long post, and I'm kind of wired on Vanilla Coke (IT IS BACK XDDDDDD) so I'm typing like a five-year-old.

  For my buddies in obsessing over the Crisis Core trailer music (arawethiel and omnigeek), finally the day has come.

Cue me listening to this over and over and over and over until the end of time!

  I'm a liiiiittle disappointed that the other track was a remix of the ending theme of Last Order and not the Last Order-version of the guitar track, but hey, at least I got one to obsess over, so I'm not going to complain!

  Also, apparently the new trailer (and thus, the game) is going to have Traumatic Zack Death Scene (tm), which I really don't need (I have delicate sensibilities, okay?). I'll get my PSP all wet with crying because I'm a big girl.

  Geez, I've been meaning to write in here for awhile, but I never got the time to do it. Honestly, I don't have the time to do it right now, but I need a break. D: Also, I updated the MP3 thingus earlier today, if anyone is interested. There's some random stuff up there, BUT OF COURSE I LIKE ALL OF IT. Also, I said screw hosting the files elsewhere because obviously that didn't work so well (WTF).

  I stolenated Krysti for my birthday weekend (last weekend, not this weekend) and a lot of fun was had. Friday was the ride home, and when we got there we puttered around a little bit until mom got home and took us to Daisen, where we pigged out on delicious Japanese food and each got a different dessert! OMG, red bean ice cream, I love you so much.

  Saturday I carted Krysti off to Orlando, where we did the usual Chibi-Nam run - ate at China Jade, went to Florida Oriental Trading and Dong-A Co. The guy at FOT actually had this crazy thing for sale there. I have a really hard time resisting awesome action figures, but it was a crazy amount of money -- 189.99 for each piece (it's two pieces together). At Dong-A Co I stocked up on Ramune and tried the Men's Pocky -- it's better than regular Pocky; I guess I'm man enough to take it or something -- and Krysti purchased potion. This is actually sake that's in this cute little blue potion-looking bottle. Krysti said she'd give me the bottle if I'd try the sake, and so I had to agree because I love material objects for stupid reasons -- and god damn, it was a cute little bottle, okay!? When we got home, Sarah came over for movies and ice cream cake, but before we did all that, we all tried the sake. It was some of the most noxious stuff I've ever smelled or tasted in my life, and I only had a tiny smidge. I tried to hold my nose but my mom was like, mocking me for being a wuss. D: It was so bad though. It tasted like hand sanitizer and vinegar. Yuck. Anyway, opened pressies from the parental units. GOT A PSP! It's awesome. I heart it. Got some Wiipoints and another Wiimote from Mrs. S & Worthy, and some PSP games (Battlefront II and Lemmings, LOL) from Sarah S.!

  On Sunday I had a bad moment when I went to take Sara to work... right before I was about to leave, my aunt came in to give me my birthday card, and she had pulled up behind my car. Like an idiot I totally ran into her front bumper on the way out. She was really nice about it but that made me feel worse! I'm such an idiot. Anyway, Krysti had suggested earlier that we go see Blades of Glory, and we snatched Keith and took him with us, and while it wasn't as funny as Anchorman or Talladega Nights, it still helped to make me forget that I totally effed up my car and my aunt's. Rawr.

  Monday was my real birthday, but we got up at ass o'clock in the morning (5 XD) and got back to Tallahassee by 11:30-ish. Went to class, came home and piddled around on the internet. Was extremely pleased to see that the official Crisis Core website is finally up and that they have a kind of bad version of that song from the trailer that drives me nuts, which someone actually ripped from the site for download. Hopefully they'll release a soundtrack and put a good version of that song on there, but for now this will do!

  Krysti invited me over to visit her house over summer, and I'm all excited to play SUPER SPY with her in the orange groves (that's what orange groves are for, doncha know). Oh, I mean, go to the beach and see her town and the planet-arium and SNOOTY THE MANATEE, too!! XDDD

  Krysti's bro came up to visit her randomly this weekend. I went to Samurai with them on Thursday night, and on Saturday we toodled around Appalachee Street and I spent a lot of money! D: It was money well spent, though, and half of it was spent in Target giftcards from Christmas and birthday, so whatevs. XD I got a PSP case for my PSP, as well as a Sega Genesis collection, a PSP version of Katamari Damacy, and a UMD version of Advent Children for the new PSP as well. And John was in his store, and he let me borrow his copy of Loco Rocco. Also bought some DVD box sets -- season 5 of South Park (Target didn't have 3 or 4 at the moment, rawr) and seasons 2 and 3 of The Simpsons. I also discovered that they sell several different Jrock magazines at Hot Topic, so god dammit, I had to just go and buy one just to own one (back when I was into Malice Mizer like woah, I always wanted to buy a copy of Shoxx with them in it -- so I just had to go and buy one, just to kind of fulfil an old wish, I guess, even if I am way too late for good ol' Malice Mizer XD).

  Wow, long post. I've had a bunch of stupid dreams lately but I can't remember them. I should probably get back to work, but wah, it's almost one in the morning. *frets* I just need to force myself up early tomorrow, I guess. Stupid school! Only two weeks left and you're still eating up all my time. IMMA KICK YOU IN THE FACE.

  First things first -- I get home to find that there's (finally) a NEW CRISIS CORE TRAILER OMG (alternate link), and it's five minutes long and holy crap. There are no words to describe the awesomeness that is Zack. And OMG, the parts with Zack and Cloud. <3 This game is going to be so hot. If only they would have made it for the regular Playstation. Also, I need to look up voice actors, because when Zack started being dorky and squeeing he sounded just like Tamaki from Ouran, LOL.

  It was incredibly hot today. Summer is here, and the knowledge that it's only going to get worse... ugh. I don't even want to think about it. I only have one more month in this breezeless, pollen-infested crap hole, and then I get to go back to another crap hole, but at least it's my crap hole and sometimes we get a breeze. And there is less pollen. :P My car has gone from its usual dark forest green color to the color of a neon post-it note, thanks to all the pollen. I should take a picture. It's horrible.

  Workshop wasn't so bad mainly on account of we workshopped my story last and everyone was bored and wanted to go home by that time, so no one said anything. Most of what was said was what I already knew -- there needs to be less exposition, and more action. So I guess I need to hack it up. Hopefully it won't get worse, because that's always what seems to happen when I go in for massive rewrites. Ah well.

  Anyway, yes, new Crisis Core trailer makes my day A+++++++. Now that I'm home I need to get back to work, though. *cracks whip*

  Okay, this is sort of random, but to anyone on my flist who's played FFVII before, what was your favorite party configuration?

  I have much love for Aeris, but as countfinkula pointed out to me, it's kind of silly to have her level up only to die (and take all my shit with her). But... Aeris. <3 countfinkula also recommended staying away from Vincent and Yuffie since they're acquired later in the game. I'm interested to see any other opinions though.

  Any advice on a good party setup sans Aeris would be much appreciated. Although, you know, since I have FFVII for PC, I heard there are hacks out there that let you keep Aeris. XDDD BUT STILL. I'm trying not to be a bad person.

  I don't know how it's celebrated in other parts of the world, so for my non-American friends, I will start with the explanation that St. Patrick's Day over here is absolutely nothing about Irish heritage and absolutely everything about getting as shitfaced as you possibly can. And this year it was on a Saturday. And I am attending one of the most notorious party schools in the country.

  Uh, so, with that in mind, I HAD A SLUMBER PARTY AT KRYSTI'S! XDDDDD

  I knew the apartment complex was definitely not where I wanted to be last night, and Katie was having some people over for a shindig, and so I decided that I wanted to get the hell out of Dodge.

  Krysti and I didn't really do anything, but I had a lot of fun just kind of hanging out with her. We got Chinese food and drank a lot of Coke and watched some episodes of South Park. I attempted to work on a paper while watching her attempt to finish Final Fantasy X-2. She also showed me a bit of her newest PS3 game -- the driving one? Motorstorm, I think? -- which was pretty woah, and less about driving and more about horrific crashes. We even played a bit of The Gackt Game -- err, sorry, Bujingai, which is LOLtastic. We didn't play that much (because we were laughing too hard), but enough to basically get the feel of the game, which is:

  Yeah, it is a button-masher to the extreme, which is great for me because I can't play video games for shit despite my love for them, and so I am all about pounding my thumbs furiously into the controller and getting results. Which is why I thought Star Wars: Episode III was fantabulous.

  So yes, Gackt -- I mean, Lau, sorry -- looks really spiffy doing all of his cool moves, but whereas it was super cool in Episode III, the fact that it's Gackt here in Bujingai makes it kind of hokey. I mean, even CGI Gackt is just TRYING SO HARD TO BE SO COOL. And... it's just hilarious.

  Anyway, Krysti has an air mattress so I got a really nice night of sleep and I feel all refreshed and bright. Now I have to clean my bathroom and get back to work on my paper. D:

  Ugh, dammit! Installed my copy of FFVII and tried to play with the Magic Windows XP patch. I can't get it to work even with that. A lot of people seem to like and recommend the patch, so it has to be something I'm doing. :/

  My problems may just stem from the fact that the keyboard controls are focused around a numpad, which my laptop does not have. So it may not have actually locked up, it may have just... not been moving because of keyboard problems. Aargh.

  Stupid PS1 game for being like eighty bajillion dollars. D< And unless I can finish playing the copy I borrowed from John before I graduate (which I doubt...).

EDIT: Aha! I got it. It was the whole numpad thing. I managed to get into the menu and change the keyboard commands. Yay. So hopefully I can try to re-start the game soon. Krysti and I only got so far as North Corel. Still, the thought of having to get through Junon again is a pretty scary one. XD STUPID PARADE. STUPID DOLPHIN.

  I realized I never made a post about my Guild Wars characters (not like anyone really cares, LOL) even though I've been intending to for a long time.

  I've tried to have a wide variety of characters, although, as with Baldur's Gate, I always tend to drift towards favorite classes/professions. I've discovered that with Guild Wars, no matter how hard I try, I just can't get into casting professions. I make a casting character, and I think, "Oh, man, this is going to be so awesome," and then, bleh, I just can't do it. I enjoy playing characters that run in and beat the shit out of things.

  In Baldy, I could enjoy playing a mage, because I was so far removed from the action. In GW, you're down there with the character, so I just feel like I need to be doing something. Also, casting just takes so long, and ughghgh, I need to be in there hitting something with a sword. The only caster I ever really enjoyed playing was my Necromancer.
