Happy New Year everybody! I have been having an awesome time with Krysti this week and I'm really happy I got to spend the new year with her instead of alone for once. :) Right now we're being huge dorks and doing our traditional Amanda-n-Krysti-hanging-out celebrations: eating ice cream cake and watching Advent Children.
We actually rang in the new year in Kamadan district 4. >.>

booyah, take that holiday season
11:08 am
Yesterday was a very productive day! Sara and I went shopping over on Merritt Island and I am pretty much done! All I have left is a present for Maria, which I think Sierra and I are splitting so I have to wait to get that till the next time we work together. But what a relief. Now I just have to pay off my CC bill. And buy textbooks for next semester. D:
Afterwards Sara and I hung out for awhile, surfed the intrawebs, watched a little bit of Bunty Aur Babli (which I finally broke down and bought for myself) and then went to Pineapple Bay. Sarah S. and I had got take out from Pineapple Bay before and I wasn't very impressed (we got beef curry, non-spicy, but still I didn't like the flavor at all), but I wanted to give it another go since everyone raves about it. This time I got pad thai without the chili sauce and it was so. good. Although still very spicy to me! I thought it was going to taste like it had been slathered in peanut butter but it didn't at all. It was really good. Afterwards Sara got a "kaya crepe" which had coconut jam in it and she let me try it... it was so amazing. I should have got one for myself, too, lol. I'm glad I gave them another shot!
I'm getting really excited for Krysti to get here. Screw Christmas, it's all about Krystimas, hahaha. Not looking forward to this weekend at work but at least it will all be over in a week. Yay!

It's go time!
11:50 am
Yesterday at work was nuts. I was actually pretty okay and calm despite all the craziness going on until like, the last hour, when some guy really hit my PMS button and I was pissed for the rest of the night.
(Note to Mr Very Important -- if your court documents are so Very Important, maybe you should consider NOT PROCRASTINATING TO BRING THEM IN TO GET COPIED UNTIL TWO HOURS BEFORE YOU NEED THEM ARHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHG -- also saying that your stuff was More Important than the other jobs I had in line was Very Annoying and I should have just told you NO but I am a TOOL. :/ At least we got $50 of your cashie monies so there.)
Got up early today and went to the gym with Maria. Did I mention I joined a gym? Crazy right? But it's only $10 a month so it's worth it I think. It takes a lot for me to drag myself out of the bed at 6 AM but it really gives me a lot of energy for the rest of the day.
Did some more Xmas shopping. I'm still not done. I'm glad I have so many friends but wow, it is hard thinking up different ideas for everyone every year!
Also we've finally got the dates pounded out that Krysti is gonna be here and I am SO FREAKING EXCITED. It is going to be AWESOME.
I have a lot to get done this weekend (well, my weekend anyway) but I am totally motivated to do it. It's Amanda vs. Computer: ANNUAL ORGANIZATION AND BACKUP TIME.
EDIT: I swear, every time I am excited about gettin' stuff done, a wild headache approaches. And I lose every time.

YES WE CAN
12:00 pm
Last night was one of the best nights of my life. I'm a little sad I didn't have my computer on and wasn't able to celebrate online alongside everyone on my flist, but on the other hand I spent it with some pretty great people and it was an awesome experience! It was a little boring at first, but things started to look better and better and the mood started to get more and more excited. This was highly enhanced by the drunkeness of most of the participants (not me, unfortunately).
We were actually watching the end of the Daily Show special when I noticed in the picture-in-a-picture of CNN that the screen had changed. There was lots of screaming, hugging, crying, toasting, etc. We had a group hug and a group toast. We all teared up watching the acceptance speech, cue another group hug. It was awesome. The dudes then went outside to smoke celebration cigars, which was gross, but I braved the bad smell and smoke to be out there with everyone. I can let it slide for just this once (I got a headache anyway, but whatever).
Last time I voted (the first time I voted), I was crushed. And overwhelmed by the feeling that my vote didn't matter (because didn't Kerry win the popular vote but not the electoral? I don't remember; bad memories blocked out, lol). But at the same time, I wasn't particularly enthusiastic about Kerry. He just... wasn't George W. Bush. This time it was different though! I have to say that the credit goes to Keith, who was always watching debates when I went over to his house, who wouldn't shut up about political stuff and got me into the Obama love. It was hard not to after watching him speak vs. Clinton speak (although I was down with Clinton and at that point would have been okay if she had made it, I ended up rooting for Obama).
I'm just so happy that I'm alive to see this historical shit go down. I think I may actually like my country a little now! Go us!
P.S. I live in a blue state! Holy SHIT I live in a BLUE. STATE. How the hell did that happen???
P.S. TAKE THAT TOM FEENEY. GTFO HA HA HA.
P.S.S. Uggh, yes on Prop 2 though. I don't even think people knew what they were voting for. "One man, one woman, and no unmarried straight domestic partners being able to be there in the hospital when one of them's dying." How many people's unmarried grannies and grandpas just got screwed over because people only focused on the "it's a gay marriage ban" shit. How many unmarried grannies and grandpas voted for that shit not realizing that they were screwing themselves? Okay, I understand (well, not really, but you know what I mean) why people hate the big scary gay, but why the hate for grannies and grandpas?? Why hide that in a gay marriage ban? I just don't get it.
P.S.S.S. OBAMA!!!!

I hella want to go on a road trip.
01:49 pm
Of course, here I am, trying to finish all my assignments on my last day off, especially the one due on Friday, and Blackboard decides that it's a good day to go down (now that I'm in online classes, Blackboard is where it's all at. I NEED IT).
Anyway, last night I had a pretty sweet dream that Krysti and I visited Amanda N. in California, except Amanda lived in San Francisco and not Los Angeles. On the way back, we decided to take a really long road trip instead of coming straight back. It was pretty sweet but I was so busy getting my ipod to play the perfect road trip playlist that I got us lost a lot. Oh, and I could fly. :D
Obviously all these dreams about hanging with Amanda N and Krysti are trying to tell me something...!

A lot of you guys may think that my Amanda Saves the Internet project is kind of a joke and a waste of time (well, it is the latter...), but while eating lunch today I browsed through and was cracking up to death at some of the shit I've saved so far. From the Snapey Madlib that direpenguin and I did together: "What a mean old lollerskate," Ron exclaimed. From 4-chan:-- Hey /b/, I heard that cosplaying chicks are easy to pick up at cons. Is this true? -- _______ at cons are easy to pick up. -- Cool. When's the next con in San Francisco? -- Yaoicon. Have fun. From guildwars: You'd probably have more luck finding a guild if you weren't martyring yourself as a misused and underappreciated gem. Of course, I may be wrong in assuming you can even read this while your eyes are full of broken-hearted tears. Also from guildwars: rebelliousuno: I just picked up a birthday cupcake... cinnamonbite: Not from Xunlai, right? LOL rebelliousuno: No out capping Dervish skills and whilst clearing out the fortress for Avatar of Grenth one of the Kournans drops a Birthday Cupcake... talazia: So you think its like elementary school? When one guard has a birthday, his Mom has to make cupcakes for the entire platoon? ;) cinnamonbite: Did he tell you whose birthday it was with his dying breath? Chatting with arawethiel:Amanda: Krysti has entered text Amanda: *staaaaaaares* Amanda: Krysti is typing!!! Krysti: oh sorry I didn't realize I had Amanda: XDDDDDDDD Krysti: it was the letter "P" Amanda: For like thirty minutes I've been ON THE EDGE OF MY GODDAMN SEAT Krysti: I don't know if it was intentional or not Krysti: D:

hello internets
11:49 am
Man I'm behind in the internets. I did things with friends and look what happens. My flist is backed up to like 200. We had a very nice week at home... dad has been gone since Sunday! It's been pretty amazing. Actually he just walked in the door (like five seconds ago) and is already bitching. Sigh. Back to normal. I mourn the death of this awesome week already. :/
On Tuesday I watched Battle Royale with Sierra and Keith. I had never seen it before and it was pretty amazing.
On Thursday mom went down to Vero to join dad for the night and I was alone in the house! Ooooo! I hung out with Keith and Diane & Dicky who were in town.
Friday I worked for four hours and then it was time for more Diane & Dicky. Went to see fireworks 'cause Diane had a lust for them that could not be sated. There was a drunk lady next to me. And little kids in front of us that kept saying "Get 'er done!" ... about fireworks. As Dicky said, "We have entered a cultural black hole." Were also aiming for an 10:45PM showing of Hancock -- 'cause the most goddamn American thing you can do on the 4th of July is see a Will Smith movie immediately after viewing fireworks, fuck yeah -- but did not make it as it took about an hour to remove ourselves from Cocoa Village. Went to Steak & Shake afterwards where I made an ass of myself by spilling cherry coke all over the place. I can never show my face in that Steak & Shake ever again.
Also last... Thursday? Went to Wet & Wild. It was... as always... both wet and wild. The weather was pretty shitty though, alas. But I did get Dippin' Dots so the day was not a total loss.
Gotta get ready for work, and I'm still not done going through my flist. :/

alas, the weekend is over
11:18 pm
So! While we're on the topic of Awesome McAwesomesauce music videos that came out when I was in middle school: What prompted the random remembering of "Weapon of Choice" yesterday was Sarah mentioning that GuildWiki had a page detailing the different dances that characters do in the game. I knew most of them already, but apparently the male dervish dance is taken from "Weapon of Choice!" (I think the female assassin dance is still my fave though. It's sooooo badass!) Yep, so Monday I hung out with Sierra and then Tuesday night I hung out with Sarah! I stayed over at Sarah's really late. She gave me coffee but as usual, it randomly made me tired (coffee either makes me want to implode or sleep). It was a pretty sweet time though. We played a lot of GW and then just kind of hung around on the internet together. X3 I finally deleted my ex-survivor monk... and I made a mesmer (like, my third. I'm never going to like playing mesmer even though I keep tryig to force myself). I'm gonna try to see if I can manage mesmer/assassin. SHE'S A BEAUTIFUL BUT DEADLY LOUNGE SINGER OKAY. Sara (other Sara) is finally buying a mecha angel body and offered to give me the head. Although Saiph is amazingly beautiful, I had heard nothing but trouble about matching up mecha angel heads with regular-sized doll bodies, not to mention I'm saving up for Zack's body, so I decided against it. Oh, Saiph. One day perhaps you shall be mine (and I shall name you Athena both because you look a lot like Athena from BSG and because you're wearing that awesome greek goddess-y outfit). I really am not liking this trend towards bigger and bigger BJDs. I mean, aren't they huge enough already??? And of course all the new ones are more and more awesome-looking, but they're also huger and huger. Speaking of dolls, I need to remember to post about the Crazy Doll Lady who comes into my work. D: THEY'RE EVERYWHERE.

OMG HOMIE PARTY
12:45 am
Woo yay! Krysti's coming to visit me on the 28th! I'm so excited! I can't wait! It's going to be great, even if she shows up in my driveway at 7:00 in the morning again. Actually, I HOPE she does. THAT'S HOW MUCH I MISS YOU KRYSTI!!! XDDD
In other news, I'm going to bed. Is it kind of sad that I'm WAY more excited to see Krysti than I am about Christmas? Heh. Tomorrow is Christmas and Friday is Krystimas. :D
Hope those of you who celebrate (or don't exactly celebrate but maybe drink apple cider and have a tree and presents like me) have a good Christmas tomorrow. And if not, happy Tuesday and enjoy your free day off from work! *wiggles eyebrows* Or at least I hope you're getting it off from work. If not, UPRISING. Or not. :/ Anyway.

Well, soon I shall be on my way to Gainesville (I spelled it right this time, ha ha). I wanted to be off earlier and could have been except I realized that I HAD NO CLEAN UNDERWEAR and so had to do laundry. How did that happen!?? I'm waiting for my stuff to dry now. SIGH. Krysti and I are going to have an exciting weekend filled with meeting old friends at the famed Hops (it had better be like eating a piece of goddamn paradise or I am going to hate my friends forever), meeting jackuon sometime, poking around campus, playing Guild Wars and eating an entire ice cream cake. XD I'm really scared that my car is going to get hurt 'cause I've got an FSU sticker on it. Football rivalries are stupid as hell. :/ It's so weird that all my friends are grad students now. It makes me feel like a drop-out, ha ha!

Um.
09:10 am
Well, I have to give mad props to Nettuno for being the only person to know that HP5 was coming out on the 11th. Amanda N and I both thought it was the 17th for some reason, and Sara didn't know either. Thanks Nettuno for being the informant, or else I would have missed opening day and been a sad panda. I'm such a dumbass.
It's so sudden that there's no time to plan going to see it with Amanda N in her hometown, which really makes me sad. And it's in the middle of the week, grr. Very disappointing... but there are still other weekends during which to go see Amanda. And I'll bring Krysti, too. We just need more time to plan something out. I'm horrible at getting up and just GOING.
Oh well...

05:44 pm
Checked the local school board site today for job openings and there are THREE in my hometown at the local middle schools for office clerks. I am so applying, despite how depressing working at my own middle school would be. Don't care. There's another job that's fully within my abilities -- I would only need some training, I'm sure -- that has requirements that I don't have (experience or coursework). Mom says I should apply anyway, but I'd feel like a total idiot. "Oh, yes, I know the website said I needed this, but it's okay; I'm willing to learn!" Yeah, right. :/ Still, the latter job is 15 dollars an hour, which would be enough for me to move out on, whereas the office clerk jobs are 9 dollars an hour. A job is a job, so I'll be happy to get a clerk job, really -- especially if it's so close and I don't have to waste gas -- but I'll never get out of the house on 9 dollars an hour. Oh well. I'm kind of excited anyway. Mom's going to help me apply tonight, because it's all through the school board and it's touchy. :/ Speaking of next steps in life, CONGRATS TO KRYSTI / arawethiel WHO JUST GOT INTO GRAD SCHOOL AT UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA!!!!!!! You rock Krysti!!

Well, going to bed now... have to be up at three in the morning oooomg. Then at six we'll be on the plane! So I'll talk to everyone when I get back, on the 13th! (Technically... the 12th but by the time we get home from the airport it'll be the 13th, LOL. And I'll be in no shape to post at one in the morning anyway). cinemachick, hope you got your email and your mail-mail.
